SANTA ROSA, Calif. - July 8, 2002 - TrueTime, Inc. (Nasdaq:TRUE
- News), a leading provider of precision time and frequency products,
today introduced its new Domain Time II network time synchronization
software suite. Domain Time II software combined with TrueTime's
dedicated GPS referenced network time server, creates the industry's
first comprehensive network time synchronization solution.
TrueTime's complete network time synchronization system alleviates
network operation problems caused by inaccurate computer clocks
by distributing atomic clock quality time throughout the network
in a manageable way. The resulting accurate time synchronization
is essential for many mission critical network operations and applications,
and is particularly important for network log file accuracy to expedite
precise network fault diagnosis and forensics.
TrueTime's Domain Time II management tools add tremendous value
in managing time resources in an easy-to-use manner, saving network
administrators both time and money. From a single workstation, the
administrator can remotely install, update, configure, monitor,
troubleshoot, and track licensing of all Domain Time II client and
server software components -- enterprise-wide. This reduces or even
eliminates the costs involved in installing and maintaining time
software on large numbers of machines distributed across a network.
"Network managers want a single vendor solution that's comprehensive,
easy to deploy, and works so unobtrusively that they might forget
they own it," stated Paul Skoog, TrueTime's product manager
of IP network timing products. "To do this you need integrated
server, client, and management functionality. TrueTime is the only
supplier that meets these requirements. The combination of our GPS
referenced network time servers, such as the NTS-200, and our Domain
Time II software suite provides the accuracy, reliability, security
and manageability of time on a network that can be obtained no other
way."
TrueTime's Domain Time II software obtains reliable time directly
from a TrueTime network time server, such as the NTS-200. The NTS-200
in turn derives its time directly from the atomic clocks aboard
the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system. In addition to keeping
the network clocks synchronized to the NTS-200, Domain Time II incorporates
and tracks multiple types of data, verifying actual time adjustments.
This information can be collected remotely to provide unimpeachable
audit records when the need arises to prove network time accuracy.
As important as network time synchronization is to network operations
and application integrity, network managers want it to be a worry-free
task. To accomplish this, Domain Time II monitors the level of time
synchronization on the network and indicates when there is a deviation
to the desired network time accuracy. As new workstations or servers
are added to the network, installation of the software can be automatic,
continually maintaining synchronization as the network expands.
TrueTime's Domain Time II Network Time Synchronization Software
Suite is compatible with the Windows O/S and also includes time
clients for other operating systems such as Linux, Solaris, etc.
The Domain Time II software is available now and for a limited time,
a Starter Pack bundle configuration is included for free with NTS-200
GPS referenced network time servers. A 30-day, fully functional
trial version of Domain Time II is available for download from http://www.truetime.net.
