WinSync is used to keep the time on Windows-based computers accurately synchronized to a trusted network time reference. It is well known that clocks on computers are notorious for drifting, and this can lead to serious network operations problems. The WinSync network time client alleviates these problems by regularly updating the computer's clock to the correct time. The resulting accurate synchronization is essential for many mission critical network operations and applications, and particularly important for network log file accuracy to improve network fault diagnosis and forensics.

Atomic Clock Accuracy
WinSync derives reliable time directly from a network time server, such as the TrueTime NTS-200 (NTS-200 Data Sheet). The NTS-200 in turn derives its time directly from the atomic clocks aboard the GPS satellite system. The high-bandwidth capability of the NTS-200 can support thousands of TrueTime WinSync clients with no degradation in timing accuracy.

Reliable, Enterprise-wide Synchronization Solution
TrueTime's out-of-the-box network appliance solution of the network time server and the network time client is an invaluable resource. Both the TrueTime server and the WinSync clients are easy to install. The highest compliment we get paid by our customers is that they installed the product, it works great, and they forget it's there.

Time Synchronized Information Ensures Optimal Network Performance
Often its not until problem surfaces that the lack of time synchronization becomes a key factor in either a failure or the ability to troubleshoot one. For example, since server logs are a compilation of information from different hosts, its essential the time stamps be correct. A lack of precise synchronization creates considerable difficulty when ordering events and troubleshooting root-cause problems. The combination of the network time server and distributed network time clients, like TrueTime WinSync, solves this problem by keeping the clocks on a wide variety of network devices very closely synchronized. For more on this topic, read the white paper The Importance of Network Time Synchronization.
