Network Scan allows you to perform
a useful and quick scan of your network to obtain important configuration
and troubleshooting information. It is a representation of the time
network and what role each machine has in the distribution of time.
The Network Scan tells you the number, IP address and name of each
type of Domain Time Server (Master, Slave and Independent) able
to be seen by UDP broadcast from the management console. This helps
you identify which servers are actually available for clients to
synchronize with.
Also identified are the clients that are visible from the management
console. These clients should be able to automatically discover
and synchronize with one of the servers listed. In addition, the
scan will show you the time server settings entered in any DHCP
servers so that you can easily determine if the correct servers
are specified.
