Log Settings

Domain Time II Server offers two main logging methods: Summary Logging (startup notices, errors, etc.) to the NT/2K/XP Application Event Logs and Full Logging, which writes detailed information on all Domain Time events to a log file on the server machine.

Summary Logging to the NT/2K/XP event logs is automatic, cannot be disabled and has no parameters to set. Full Logging allows you to specify which detail events to include and how to handle the log files as they grow over time. These settings are made on the Log Settings tab.

Log content can be one continuous file, or you may select the maximum size of this file. Other log retention settings cause the Full Client to create a new log file on a schedule instead of continuing to write to a single file. This is much more manageable when you have a very active server. You may archive off older files whenever you wish and still have a good current history.
